| Temecula has two Certified farmers’ Markets. Real farmers bring and sell directly to the public produce that they grow. The OTTFM has become a social event for many customers. Backyard gardeners and farmers come to talk about growing practices and gain information. Customers learn about their food source and have access to nutritional information. There is a bond of respect between grower and customer. | ||

| From Jan 1993 to Feb 1995 market was managed by Leslie Delarro. Market reopened in April 3rd 1995 and Front Streets under direction of OTTMA GC as manger. On the fall of 1996 the market was turned over to a group of farmers. The market was again moved to the Stage Stop transportation Center with the beautiful mural as a background. The market averages 40-59 farmers each week, some being seasonal. Over 2/3 of the farmers sell at other markets Most of the farmers do there own selling but a few have family or employees selling for them. Quite a few sell to a packer-shipper, co-ops, wholesale or roadside stands. The OTT certified farmers market is successful due to the superior quality of the farmers, the support of the community, and a lot of hard work |
